I have hands-on experience in prototyping, designing and scaling new technologies from research to commercialization. My approach to engineering problems is hands-on and systematic, with an eye for the big picture.
I build things that just – work
A mechanical engineer with experience in phase-zero product development, hands-on prototyping, process engineering, and early stage manufacturing- I excel at cross-domain problem solving and communicating with collaborators such as chemists, and biologists and other scientists.
My most recent work has taken me to the intersection of plasma physics, plant physiology, biological materials and bulk material handling systems.
My passions are collecting techniques and methods, better understanding scientific principles, and contributing my knowledge to others working on technical problems. I am a compassionate maker who aspires to elegant design and skilled craftsmanship- within realistic time and budget constraints.
In my spare time I enjoy collecting plants for my community garden, identifying rocks and mushrooms, and examining building and bridge construction with my wife (a Geo-Structural Engineer.)
